A SHOWCASE CELEBRATION OF THE GLOBAL STORY OF OUR NAMESAKE TREE, THE MONTEREY CYPRESS (HESPEROCYPARIS MACROCARPA)
Please join us for this special Cypress Lawn Arboretum event, featuring a gallery exhibition of tree photography from around the world. Our Arboretum Director Josh Gevertz has traveled globally to document the growing story of the Monterey cypress, in kinship with diverse human culture in lands as far as New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, and throughout the California coast. Come on October 6th to witness the vast arboricultural legacy of our namesake species!
This gallery exhibition, located in the main lobby and adjacent rooms of the Cypress Lawn offices at 1370 El Camino Real, will feature photography of Monterey cypress trees both in our living collection here in Colma and from across the globe, poetry by Arboretum Director Josh Gevertz, wood samples and natural artifacts from actual tree specimens, and more! A minimum of $25 donation to the Cypress Lawn Heritage Foundation will be accepted to attend this event. Larger contributions to support the ongoing care of the Arboretum are also welcomed. Click here to donate.
