Witness the wonderment of deep rest among the gentle oaks and giant cypresses of our cherished Arboretum, embracing your senses as you slowly and mindfully move through this sacred landscape in a newly offered immersive experience at Cypress Lawn. This enchanting practice is perfect for those seeking to deepen their connection with nature and find tranquility in a truly unique setting, one where life and death know no separation.
This program will be hosted by Arboretum Director Josh Gevertz, and guided by Ben Page, a renowned forest bathing guide and the author of Healing Trees: A Pocket Guide to Forest Bathing. Join us for a welcoming session connecting with nature and the vibrant life throughout the Arboretum.
This spring equinox walk has been scheduled to embrace the setting of the sun into the true west, which we will experience together in the “golden hour” of the early evening, while connecting with the trees of Cypress Lawn’s historic East campus. Our certified guide will offer a grounding welcome session, followed by a series of thoughtfully crafted invitations, which are designed to help one to find their own authentic connection with the meaningful place of trees that is Cypress Lawn Arboretum. We will end the practice together in a sharing circle, reflecting on our experiences and enjoying some warm tea.
For this program, we recommend bringing layers to stay comfortable as the sun sets and the temperature drops, as well as good walking shoes. Because of the slow and meditative nature of the walk, we ask that all participants be 12 years and older.
